Facilities Manager

NCSS is looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee all aspects of facilities operations, maintain departmental contracts and reporting, plan, manage and oversee various capital projects to ensure fiscal responsibility, quality and efficiency and to act as a liaison for division leadership, other agency staff and outside contractors.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of successful project management expertise, the ability to maintain capital budgets, experienced in developing scope of work and bid documentation, possess strong technological and communication skills and the ability to understand contracts and negotiate with external vendors.

Successful candidate will have a strong understanding of OSHA/VOSHA, ADA, and other established State and Federal regulations as well as a solid grasp on managing systems including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, building automation, construction and permitting processes and fire protection knowledge for both commercial and residential settings.

This position will be responsible for the supervision of facilities personnel, is expected to participate in management and statewide meetings and will maintain a significant role in the agency’s health and safety initiatives. Successful candidate will be highly detail oriented, comfortable working within a technology-based work environment, experienced with meeting facilitation, and extremely organized.   

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in facilities management, construction, or related field a must
  • 2-year degree or licensure in related field preferred
  • Supervisory experience, Class 2 water licensure and asbestos management experience a plus
