VTDigger is excited to work with Vermont Care Partners to promote the much-needed services of its sixteen respective member agencies which, includes NCSS. They also understand how important it is for our elected officials to know how to support the needs of Vermonters.

This thirteen-week series is a collaboration produced by members of the Vermont Care Partners statewide network of sixteen non-profit, community-based agencies providing mental health, substance use and intellectual and developmental disability support.

Below is the second installment of the series from Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) and their Wellness Collaborative which works to provide an informed, holistic approach to health, balance, and recovery, along with the tools to increase wellness and quality of life for those who come to WCMHS for services.

Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) is excited to greet the New Year by welcoming our community to join us for wellness activities that are open to all. In recognition of the impact of increased need for therapeutic services as a result of the pandemic, we have been working with our clinicians to broaden an array of mind/body approaches that will assist in reducing stress, depression, sleeplessness, lack of concentration, substance use, feelings of anxiety, and more.   

While assessing all individuals for traditional therapeutic options and constantly triaging up to 140 people on our waitlist for out-patient services, we know we have to do everything possible to mitigate the crises people are experiencing through an array of approaches. One such approach is through our Wellness Collaborative, led by its coordinator, Sally Olmsted, LiCSW, who works to provide an informed, holistic approach to health, balance, and recovery, along with the tools to increase wellness and quality of life for those who come to WCMHS for services.   Read more…
