Ten staff from the NCSS Children’s Division attended the annual Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysis and Therapy (BABAT) conference, held in Worcester, MA on October 2 -4.  This was the 40th anniversary of the event, and the first time it was held in Worcester, having outgrown the previous conference site at UMASS Amherst. The event, which was attended by about 2500 behavioral and mental health professionals from around the country, brings together some of the leading researchers and practitioners from the fields of applied behavior analysis, organizational behavior management, behavioral pediatrics, and traditional counseling for three days of seminars and workshops.  NCSS always has a strong presence at the conference, as staff can accumulate many of the CEU’s needed to maintain licensure from both the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and American Psychological Association.  It’s a great opportunity to hear directly from many of the leaders in these respective fields, and allows for evaluation of the services we provide along with focusing staff on where we want to head in the future.
