Soar Learning Center - Art Teacher

If you believe that creativity is not the Lego kit with directions, it's the bucket of Legos and the potential for ideas, then being the new Art Teacher at Soar Learning Center is where you want to teach!

The Art Teacher should possess a passion for visual culture and can inspire children K-12 to be empathic- and curious artists as they investigate the world around them.

The qualified candidate will teach an art program implementing the Vermont National Core Standards. The candidate will be experienced in imparting knowledge about various skills, including drawing, painting, collage, and 3D designs, instilling a love of art, and exposing students to diverse art fields and art history. The applicant must be familiar with innovative ways to cultivate student creativity.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating detailed and meaningful lesson plans
• Adhering to district guidelines for curriculum organization and pacing
• Managing classroom activities
• Interpreting student testing data and developing individual learning goals
• Communicating with peers and administration around student needs and curriculum
• Communicating teaching goals and expectations to students and parents

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
• Student teaching experience (preferred)
• Current teacher certificate (preferred)
