April joined Northwestern Counseling & Support Services in 2016 and currently serves as the agency’s Director of Nursing, a role she assumed in 2023 after three years as Nurse Manager. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Vermont Technical College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Walden University, graduating Summa Cum Laude from both programs.
From the start of her nursing career, April knew she wanted to work in community mental health. Drawn to NCSS’s commitment to whole-person, respectful, and comprehensive care, she has embraced the opportunity to help break down stigma and increase patient engagement.
Her leadership is grounded in compassion, trust, effective communication, and teamwork. She promotes a collaborative and supportive environment with a hands-on approach that engages both staff and patients, always with a focus on enhancing care and strengthening services.
A lifelong Vermonter, April is grateful to raise her family and dedicate her career to the community she loves. Outside of work, she enjoys camping with family and friends, cheering on her favorite hockey and football teams, and supporting her youngest son at the motocross track.
