The Other Side of Cannabis<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The documentary is an independent film project created by ordinary citizens with no political or economic affiliations or interests, other than bringing attention to the potential negative effects of marijuana on our youth — adolescents, teenagers and young adults whose brains are still forming.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The film is intended to reach out to our youth, as well as educators, medical and health professionals, researchers, and media, in addition to recovery and treatment center programs. In order to make an informed decision to use marijuana, it is important to know the potential risks.<\/p>\n

This film is not about legalization nor medicinal treatments. Both have their valid arguments. While there may be times when marijuana is appropriate to use medicinally under proper medical guidance, the message that marijuana is safe, natural and harmless as a recreational substance, must be weighed against the evidence of associated risks.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Following the documentary, Mary Gratton, B.A., ADC, NCSS Substance Abuse Intervention Specialist will lead a discussion.  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

NCSS welcomes community members to join staff for in-depth discussions on a wide-range of human services topics taught by professionals. Topics include the areas of behavioral health, children, youth and families, developmental services plus, diversity and cultural awareness. These seminars are held at Northwestern Counseling & Support Services. This month\u2019s special documentary film presentation is at a special time\u2026 5:00pm.
