NCSS’ Family Center Family and Community Support
\nServices to Celebrate National Provider Appreciation Day on May 8th<\/sup><\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/h3>\n

Look
\nfor the roadside banner at NCSS Family Center to celebrate providers on May 8th<\/sup>.
\nThis day celebrates Child Care providers and programs that care for children,
\nso parents have the opportunity to be employed, attend educational
\nopportunities, and search for employment. It is the hope that everyone will
\ntake a moment to reflect on the number of committed individuals who provide
\nquality child care in early childhood and afterschool education, making it
\npossible for employers and employees to do the work that makes their
\ncommunities thrive. It is your reliance on their commitment and dedication to
\nthe children in their care that makes their 50 hour (or more) work week
\nmeaningful. Please remember to thank them on this special day of recognition
\nfor taking care of and educating our future.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Child
\ncare organizations nationwide have joined to declare Friday, May 8, 2015 to be
\nNational Provider Appreciation Day.<\/span><\/h3>\n

It is estimated that of the
\n21 million children under the age of 6 in America, 13 million are in child
\ncare, at least part time. An additional 24 million school-age children are in
\nsome form of child care outside of school time. Early care and education
\nprograms are a critical component of the economic foundation of every state as
\nwell as offering our youngest citizens the social, emotional, and cognitive
\nlearning opportunities that will support their education and growth in later
\nyears. As we strive to continually improve the quality of early and afterschool
\ncare and learning opportunities for children, the importance of teacher and
\nprovider support and recognition comes to the forefront. Provider Appreciation
\nDay offers the opportunity to create the focus for providers to be acknowledged
\nby the people in their communities for their dedicated work. Thank you for
\ncaring for and educating Vermont’s youngest citizens!<\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nFamily and Community Support Services at NCSS’ Family Center of Northwestern
\nVermont in St. Albans works with over 190 Licensed and Registered Providers in
\nFranklin and Grand Isle Counties. There will be a celebration, co-hosted by the
\nNCSS Family and Community Support Services team and the Starting Points Network
\nLeaders of Franklin and Grand Isle Counties, at the Elks Club for providers to
