It is the hope that everyone will<br \/>\ntake a moment to reflect on the number of committed individuals who provide<br \/>\nquality child care in early childhood and afterschool education, making it<br \/>\npossible for employers and employees to do the work that makes their<br \/>\ncommunities thrive. It is your reliance on their commitment and dedication to<br \/>\nthe children in their care that makes their 50 hour (or more) work week<br \/>\nmeaningful. Please remember to thank them on this special day of recognition<br \/>\nfor taking care of and educating our future.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 1.2em; line-height: 1.8em;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;;\">Child<br \/>\ncare organizations nationwide have joined to declare Friday, May 8, 2015 to be<br \/>\nNational Provider Appreciation Day.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;;\">It is estimated that of the<br \/>\n21 million children under the age of 6 in America, 13 million are in child<br \/>\ncare, at least part time. An additional 24 million school-age children are in<br \/>\nsome form of child care outside of school time. Early care and education<br \/>\nprograms are a critical component of the economic foundation of every state as<br \/>\nwell as offering our youngest citizens the social, emotional, and cognitive<br \/>\nlearning opportunities that will support their education and growth in later<br \/>\nyears. As we strive to continually improve the quality of early and afterschool<br \/>\ncare and learning opportunities for children, the importance of teacher and<br \/>\nprovider support and recognition comes to the forefront. Provider Appreciation<br \/>\nDay offers the opportunity to create the focus for providers to be acknowledged<br \/>\nby the people in their communities for their dedicated work. Thank you for<br \/>\ncaring for and educating Vermont&rsquo;s youngest citizens!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;;\">The<br \/>\nFamily and Community Support Services at NCSS&rsquo; Family Center of Northwestern<br \/>\nVermont in St. Albans works with over 190 Licensed and Registered Providers in<br \/>\nFranklin and Grand Isle Counties.
