Brattleboro, VT \u2013 The Vermont Suicide Prevention Symposium: Bringing Resilience into Focus held August 18 attracted over 320 participants from various backgrounds including healthcare, social services, mental health, community-based organizations, state agencies, policy makers and people with lived experience. The opening featured messages from Governor Phil Scott, Secretary of the Agency of Human Services and voices of Vermont Stakeholders.<\/p>\n
All messages can be heard here:\u00a0www.vermontsuicidepreventionsymposium.org<\/a><\/p>\n The Symposium was planned and coordinated by VT Suicide Prevention Center, a public-private partnership of the Center for Health and Learning, under funding from VT Department of Mental Health, sponsors and donors. The Symposium VT Suicide Prevention Center, managed by the Center for Health and Learning, engaged community-wide stakeholders in Zero Suicide strategies, evidence-based practices, and lessons learned in the field. The Symposium encouraged innovative collaborations and aimed to disseminate new knowledge to the field about risk and protective factors and recommend strategies for working with vulnerable populations.
