{"id":482,"date":"2020-03-24T15:54:45","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T15:54:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncssinc.org\/news\/?p=482"},"modified":"2020-03-26T18:11:51","modified_gmt":"2020-03-26T18:11:51","slug":"governor-phil-scott-orders-businesses-and-non-profits-to-implement-work-from-home-procedures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncssinc.org\/news\/governor-phil-scott-orders-businesses-and-non-profits-to-implement-work-from-home-procedures\/","title":{"rendered":"GOVERNOR PHIL SCOTT ORDERS BUSINESSES AND NON-PROFITS TO IMPLEMENT WORK FROM HOME PROCEDURES"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"field field-name-field-category field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><a href=\"https:\/\/governor.vermont.gov\/press_releases\">PRESS RELEASE<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"page-title\" class=\"page__title title\">GOVERNOR PHIL SCOTT ORDERS BUSINESSES AND NON-PROFITS TO IMPLEMENT WORK FROM HOME PROCEDURES<\/h2>\n<div class=\"field field-name-field-date field-type-datetime field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><span class=\"date-display-single\">23 MARCH 2020<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<p>Montpelier, Vt. \u2013 Governor Phil Scott today announced additional mitigation measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>In consultation with the Department of Health, Governor Scott has directed all businesses and not-for-profit entities &#8211; to the maximum extent possible &#8211; to put into place telecommuting or work-from-home procedures, no later than 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re now entering a new phase in this fight to flatten the curve,\u201d said Governor Scott. \u201cVermonters should also expect additional steps in the coming days that will further reduce contact and direct more to stay home in order to keep everyone safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This order follows\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/governor.vermont.gov\/content\/addendum-4-executive-order-01-20\">further reductions to the allowable size of non-essential mass gatherings<\/a>\u00a0to no more than 10 people and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/governor.vermont.gov\/content\/addendum-4-executive-order-01-20\">closure of all close-contact businesses<\/a>, both announced Saturday, March 21.<\/p>\n<p>At this time, any entities not required to close under a previous order, or unable to implement work-from-home procedures, must implement \u2013 and publicly post \u2013 CDC and the Vermont Department of Health guidance related to COVID-19, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining a distance of six feet between people;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring employees practice appropriate hygiene measures, including regular, thorough handwashing;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that employees who are sick remain home; and<\/li>\n<li>Regularly cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Governor has also said Vermonters should prepare for a forthcoming announcement on further restrictions and a stay-at-home directive.
