Truancy Specialist

Come to work in one of the most beautiful settings in the country and make a real difference in the life of a child! The Truancy Specialist works with an identified K-8th grade student, their family, school, and broader system of care to improve the student’s attendance at school. The Truancy Specialist is responsible for regular contact with students, guardians, school staff and other providers to ensure consistent and accurate communication and effective problem solving, attending Truancy Implementation Panel meetings; and for actively promoting school attendance awareness among families, school staff and the broader community through newsletters, webpage and other means of outreach. The Truancy Specialist must convey an understanding of the effects of mental health, family systems and social factors impacting truancy.

Positive attitude; strong communication & collaboration skills; math, strong writing and computer skills, especially word and excel; strengths-based approach to delivering care and capacity for self-reflection.
A Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field is required. Experience with Restorative Justice is a plus.
