Special Education Teacher

Soar Learning Center is seeking special education teachers who are passionate about working with students with emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.  Responsibilities include creating and delivering individualized education programs for students based on their specific needs to promote learning and social development, providing academic instruction to students using evidenced based techniques, conducting assessments to create data-driven individual and classroom academic interventions, coordination and consultation with teachers, school-based clinicians, case managers and other providers to provide an effective and positive learning environment, and effectively communicating students’ educational and behavior plans and progress to parents, guardians, and other providers. The candidate must also maintain educational records of students that adhere to state and federal guidelines in an organized and timely manner.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated problem-solving abilities, positive attitude, and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Bachelor's degree and have, or be eligible for Vermont licensure in Special Education. Provisional licenses will also be considered.

M-F, 7:30am - 3:30pm. Regular hours may be flexible due to after school meetings.
