Shared Living Provider - ASL

NCSS is seeking a motivated and energetic Shared Living Provider with knowledge in ASL or Deaf culture located in Northwestern Vermont to provide care for an older gentleman. He enjoys participating in community activities and engaging socially with other Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. He enjoys crafts, puzzles, and watching game shows in the evening. Living arrangements would be in your home. The Shared Living Provider is responsible for supports in activities of daily living in a family home environment. This position offers a tax-free stipend, provides you with additional out-of-home support, access to an outstanding team for collaboration and additional trainings.

Candidates must:

  • Be familiar and comfortable with American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Have experience with and be comfortable providing personal care and communication support
  • Promote independence and provide a caring living space
  • Be 21+ years of age and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Pass background checks
