Senior School-Based Behavior Consultant

Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking a Senior School-Based Behavior Consultant! This position represents a unique opportunity to help with the development of a growing program and shape how services are delivered in schools across Franklin and Grand Isle Counties.

Duties include:

  • Assisting the Team Leader with consultation on school wide and individualized behavior systems using the principal of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Completing both skill acquisition and functional behavior assessments, as well as developing behavior intervention plans that are consistent with best practice and ethical guidelines of ABA.
  • Providing feedback and training to SBBC and providing occasional coverage as necessary.
  • Supervising individual's who are accruing independent fieldwork hours in preparation for sitting for the BACB examination as appropriate.
  • Making recommendations to providers for programming along with training, guiding and supporting educational and behavioral staff, families, home and community-based support providers in a variety of settings.

Skills required:

  • Team work, flexibility, excellent communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills.
  • Conceptual and practical knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and the ability to guide others in its use and technologies.
  • Experience working with children needing ABA services a must, preferrably experience with children with Emotional Disturbances.
  • Knowledge of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model.

Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field or equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience, required.
