Senior Behavior Interventionist - Collaborative Achievement Team

The Collaborative Achievement Team (CAT) is a team that provides 1:1 behavioral support through the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis for K-12 students in Franklin & Grand Isle counties who have experienced trauma or have social-emotional learning disorders.

The Senior BI provides support and feedback to Behavior Interventionists (BI’s), as directed by the Consultants and Team Leader, including staffing coverage of identified K-12 grade students/clients in a public school setting. Senior BI's are expected to assist in data collection, training, and oversight of BI’s in collaboration with the Behavior Consultants. This looks like assisting with on-the-job training surrounding behavior plan implementation, communicating with Consultants and the Team Leader, and attending supervision meetings. A Senior BI must maintain a positive, productive, professional attitude, with all individuals served, their families, other providers, community members, and with and about, NCSS and all NCSS staff.

Schedule aligns with a school schedule with numerous paid vacation days that schools are closed. Working hours are Monday-Friday with a typical standard of 8:00-4:00 with the occasional addition of supervisions, team meetings, Senior BI Open Office Hours, etc. This position is a full-time, salaried position accompanied by a full benefits package, including paid school vacations, tuition reimbursement, and loan forgiveness!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing training and modeling of interventions for new Behavior Interventionist staff, providing substitute/temporary coverage due to the absence of the primary BI staff, and planning of community-based activities for students.
  • Supporting social, emotional, and behavioral skills development within the constructs of an individualized behavior plan.
  • Collaborating with Team Leader, Behavior Consultants and additional Senior BIs to coordinate and implement a 4-week CAT summer program for students.

Candidate Must Have:

  • Strong communication skills to work as a team member in supporting students to achieve success in a public-school setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field or in related education field
  • 2+ years of experience in a BI or equivalent position
  • Flexibility with schedule and locations is needed as this position could potentially travel throughout Franklin and Grand Isle counties to a different school daily
