School-Based Behavior Consultant (Sign On Bonus)

Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking a School-Based Behavior Consultant to provide consultation around school-wide behavior systems and individualized behavior plans for tier II students as well as work collaboratively to build the capacity of school staff. Responsibilities include assessing, creating, facilitating, and implementing therapeutic, educational, and behavioral interventions for students within their schools and communities. Additionally, Behavior Consultants work closely with school teams to build universal behavior systems that aim to promote the positive culture of the entire school population. This position qualifies for a sign on bonus of $1,000.00 to be paid out at designated times. Mention the phrase "HIRE ME" in your cover letter to qualify.

This position requires:

  • Actively making recommendations to providers around programming
  • Training, guiding, and supporting educational and behavioral staff
  • Supporting student’s families, home and community-based support providers across a variety of settings

The ideal candidate for this position will:

  • Be able to implement Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
  • Use FBA findings to create behavioral intervention plans for teachers, paraeducators, and/or behavior interventionists
  • Have experience working with children accessing ABA services; preferably children with Emotional Disturbances (ED)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model
  • Show proficiency in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to make recommendations for system-wide and individual student needs

School-Based Behavior Consultants typically work Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm but also require some flexibility around earlier start or later end times to accommodate school, home, and staff meetings.
