School-Based Behavior Consultant

Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking a School Based Behavior Consultant to provide consultation on school wide and individualized behavior plans for students. Opportunities in either elementary, middle or high schools are now available! Responsibilities include assessment, creation, facilitation and implementation of therapeutic, educational and behavioral interventions for students within their schools and communities. This position requires actively making recommendations to providers for programming along with training, guiding and supporting educational and behavioral staff, families, home and community-based support providers in a variety of settings. The appropriate candidate will be able to implement functional behavior assessments and take these findings to create behavioral intervention plans for teachers, Para educators and/or BI staff. Experience working with children needing ABA services a must, preferably experience with children with Emotional Disturbances. This candidate should also have knowledge of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model and be able to work with an interdisciplinary team to make recommendations for system wide and individual needs. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-4, allow some flexibility with earlier start or later end times to accommodate school, home and staff meetings before or after school.

Applicant must have experience writing Functional Behavior Assessments, developing behaviors plans and working with Positive Behavior Intervention Support teams.
Master's Degree level preferred or actively pursuing one within an ABA program. BCBA certified preferred or ability to sit for the BCBA exam after current course work is completed.
