Intensive Adult Behavior Interventionist

NCSS is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and flexible candidate who is looking to make a difference in the lives of others by providing support to a young adult male with an intellectual disabilities and substantial medical needs. The right candidate would support individuals with behavioral and medical challenges in the community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating as part of a team to initiate activities that support skill-building based on a client's Individual Support Agreement (Treatment Plan).
  • Navigating maladaptive behaviors and providing needed behavioral support according to clients’ individualized Behavior Support Plans.
  • Assessing and adjusting the environment to ensure proper support and supervision while utilizing sound judgment and a calm demeanor.
  • Developing positive and therapeutic working relationships with NCSS and his team.
  • Supporting individuals with communication needs.
  • Providing needed personal and/or medical care.
  • Documenting progress on Individuals Support Agreement goals.
  • Comfortable providing hands-on behavioral and medical support.

Experience within the medical field and emergency response is preferred to support the extensive medical needs of this individual.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, exhibit patience, and have the ability to calmly and empathetically validate individuals during challenging situations. Therapeutic support experience is preferred; however, we are willing and able to train someone who is ready to support adults with intense behavioral needs. Reliable transportation is required.
