Community-Based Behavioral Support Specialist

Our Applied Behavior Services Team is hiring! Northwestern Counseling & Support Services, Inc. is seeking a candidate to join our team driving this new initiative to help children build skills that facilitate community access and integration.

Community-Based Behavioral Support Specialists:

  • Work with the guidance of a BCBA to provide supports grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis to school-aged children with intellectual disabilities, those diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder, or other related needs.
  • Support children in exploring and developing leisure interests, strengthen self-care skills, increase social connectedness among peers, and teach pre-employment skills.
  • Guide clients in developing effective communication and problem solving strategies which includes learning how to access them at appropriate times.

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for supporting children that are working towards the goals mentioned above. Effective collaboration with the consulting BCBA and other service providers to integrate multiple treatment approaches is critical based on the needs of the child and their family.
