Program for Adaptive & Expressive Arts Associate

Seeking an individual interested in and capable of providing services focused on self-expression, socialization and communication to community members with developmental disabilities. The services consist of sensory exploration activities using movement, tactile, eye-hand integration and related exercises; music exploration in small groups using sing-along and group instrumental activities. This is a part-time position. Additional work in a different setting may be available to qualified candidates.

Developmental Services
Ability to work with individuals with a variety of developmental disabilities in one-on-one and group settings providing sensory exploration, music and visual arts expression. The position requires some physical contact with people receiving services. The successful candidate will have basic music skills: ability to play guitar or piano and lead sing along activities and basic music reading skills. Visual arts experience. A basic understating of sensory integration theory. Must demonstrate accomplished musicianship on a variety of musical instruments, must demonstrate accomplished artistic skill in a variety of mediums.
Bachelor's degree in music/art therapy, music/art education or Human Services Field. Or equivalent occupational experience. Minimum 2 years experience providing services to persons of varying ages, needs and disabilities.
