Northwestern Counseling & Support Services Employee Benefits Summary
Status/Eligibility Criteria Full Time (FT) = 35 or more regularly scheduled hours per week Part Time, Benefits Eligible (PTE) = 30-34 regularly scheduled hours per week Part Time (PT) = 29 or less regularly scheduled hours per week Substitute (SUB) = Variable hours, works as needed
FT, PTE – Eligible Holidays: Eleven (11) paid holidays per calendar year for eligible employees. (Some variations apply to PTE).
FT, PTE – Eligible Personal Account Time (PAT): Employees accrue 15 days of PAT to use for vacation, personal and sick time, per year. As years of service increase, PAT increases to a maximum of 30 days.
FT, PTE - Eligible Bank Disability: Employees accrue 2 days per fiscal year up to a maximum accumulation of 30 days. Bank Disability is used when medical issues require an employee to be out of work for more than 3 consecutive days.
FT, PTE - Eligible Health Insurance: MVP provided plan entails a $25 co-pay for medical treatment, and a $10.00 - $50.00 co-pay schedule for prescription coverage. The employee pays a small percentage of the monthly premium according to plan choice: single, 2-person or family.
FT, PTE - Eligible Dental: Coverage through Delta Dental is 100% for preventative dental care, 80% for basic care and 50% for major services. Waiting periods and a lifetime deductible apply to basic and major services. The maximum benefit is $1000 per member annually. The employee pays 100% of the premium.
FT, PTE - Eligible Short Term Disability (STD): NCSS provides STD coverage to eligible employees. Per medical incident, there is a 14-day elimination period before benefits are received. Employees receive 75% of their base wages for a period not to exceed 13 weeks from the date of incident.
FT, PTE - Eligible Long Term Disability (LTD): NCSS provides LTD coverage to eligible employees. Benefits will commence on the 91st day following an eligible incident and will continue until no longer eligible as defined by the plan. Benefits are paid at 66 2/3% of the employee’s base wages up to a maximum monthly benefit.
FT, PTE - Eligible Life Insurance: NCSS provides eligible employees life insurance protection equal to 1 ½ times the employee’s annual base wage. The policy is portable upon employment end date.
FT, PTE, & PT 20 hrs or more - Eligible 403(b) Retirement Plan: At any time employees may defer a percentage of wages on a pre-tax basis up to the maximum IRS limit for the current year. (Employees age 50 and over may “catch up” and defer additional wages per IRS regulations). After one year of continuous service to NCSS, the employee is eligible for a 3% employer contribution, regardless of whether or not they contribute. If the employee contributes a minimum of 1%, NCSS will match an additional 1% of their wages. The employer match will increase with years of service to a maximum of 4%, based on employee contribution. Employees are 100% vested in the employer match and employer contributions after three years employment.
